The State of Oregon instituted Common Course Numbrering (Z courses) to ensure that specific general education courses will transfer seamlessly between the 17 community colleges and 7 public universities in Oregon. Each of the courses listed below have a common course name, course number with a Z, course description, and student learning outcomes. Each year, additional courses will be standardized across Oregon. The list of courses will be the ones that are most often taken by students across Oregon.
If you happen to take a course that does not have a Z designation that is listed below, the course will still transfer. You do not need to retake any of your coursework at Chemeketa as long as you have a C or better to meet the requirements for your degree. If you have any questions about courses taken at Chemeketa, please reach out to an advisor.
