DRF 155 Mapping and Platting Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Covers map components, legal descriptions, plot plans and contours. Introduces Civil 3D software, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
Prerequisite: DRF 131 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Produce maps at scale.
- Identify property with legal description.
- Draft plat map from legal description.
- Plot contour lines from field notes.
- Generate GIS map.
