DRF 155 Mapping and Platting

Credits: 3

Covers map components, legal descriptions, plot plans and contours. Introduces Civil 3D software, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).

Prerequisite: DRF 131  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Produce maps at scale. 
  2. Identify property with legal description. 
  3. Draft plat map from legal description. 
  4. Plot contour lines from field notes. 
  5. Generate GIS map.
