DRF 243 Architectural Design Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Covers elements and principles of aesthetic design. Applies 3-D design and model to assigned project. Develops light commercial/residential project with emphasis on specific design criteria.
Prerequisite: DRF 240 and DRF 272 , each with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Make decisions based on aesthetic principles.
- Complete design drawings using the elements of point, line, shape, plane, volume, and texture.
- Incorporate the design principles of repetition, balance, rhythm, harmony, contrast, and unity into the assigned projects.
- Using the above aesthetic principles, design an assigned architectural project given specific design criteria.
- Present the assigned project using Architectural Desktop and 3-D Studio as presentation system.
- Create model of building design.
