DRF 245 Civil Drafting and Design

Introduces AutoCAD Land Development Desktop. Develops residential subdivision and typical utility design documentation.

Prerequisite: DRF 132  and DRF 155 , each with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Use CAD-based design software in the development of civil documentation. 
  2. Produce base design sheets at multiple scales as part of the civil design process. 
  3. Prepare review-ready documentation associated with a typical residential subdivision. 
  4. Demonstrate control of text, symbols and line weights on a plotted drawing set.

  • Development of electronic design base 
  • Plotting multiple views and multiple scales associated with a project base 
  • Preparation and plotting of a drawing set based on a residential project
