DRF 272 Commercial Drafting with Revit Software 2

Lecture Hours: 1
Lab Hours: 9
Credits: 4

Presents creation of site plan, and add ceilings, structural, and HVAC systems to the architectural model created in DRF 271 . Covers an introduction to building systems, and coordination required between disciplines, as well as Revit software. Second course in a three-term commercial drafting sequence using Revit software.

Prerequisite: DRF 271  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Incorporate site survey data into Revit project.
  2. Describe parking lot requirements and restrictions including stall calculations, accessibility and storm water detention.
  3. Explain coordination process required between project consultants.
  4. Draw basic structural components using Revit software.
  5. Distinguish between suspended and non-suspended ceilings, describe advantages of each. Create reflected ceiling plan using Revit software.
  6. Describe basic Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning components by adding HVAC system to Revit project.
  7. Import spreadsheet, pdf or document files into Revit software.
