AUM 273 Advanced Safety Systems

Focuses on diagnosis, repair, and service of a vehicle’s safety systems including but not limited to: ABS, traction control, stability control, active suspension, passive restraints and ADAS. Emphasizes speed and accuracy in diagnosis and repair. Builds on prior training.

Prerequisite: AUM 267, AUM 282, and AUM 286, each with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Use industry standard safe working practices in making repairs.
Correctly use automotive hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
Describe and demonstrate the communication required between tool room personnel, parts people, and customers.
Use service manuals and online resources to perform accurate diagnosis
Diagnose and repair or replace faulty components or systems.
Calculate shop flat rate on assigned repairs.
