Develops the basic language and movements of martial arts.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Beginning

  1. Identify and demonstrate the fundamental stances, blocks, and defenses.
  2. Identify and demonstrate three or more fundamental kicks.
  3. Demonstrate three fundamental punches.
  4. Demonstrate the sixteen pre-arranged 3 and 2 step fighting techniques.
  5. Develop and improve strength and flexibility, balance, and coordination, confidence and concentration, along with improving their cardiovascular fitness.
  6. Successfully train in martial arts for cardiovascular fitness.

Intermediate

  1. Meet beginning objectives.
  2. Identify and demonstrate 3, 2 and 1 step fighting techniques.
  3. Identify and demonstrate the proper usage of the kick bag.
  4. Identify and execute the verbal block/counter exercise.
  5. Identify and demonstrate skip-in kicks.
  6. Identify and perform slow motion sparring.
