PE 185SE Swim for Fitness, Intermediate Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 1
Develops cardiovascular endurance through swimming. Covers stroke technique, interval training and lap swimming.
Prerequisite: PE 185SS with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes: Beginning
- Demonstrate full participation in pool workouts.
- Execute proper stroke techniques for freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke.
- Swim thirty consecutive lengths or more.
- Identify the components of physical fitness and cardiorespiratory endurance.
Intermediate
- Meet beginning objectives.
- Swim fifty-five consecutive lengths.
- Perform the butterfly stroke.
