The Basic Law Enforcement certificate prepares students for entry-level occupations such as policy reserve officer, campus security, and crime lab assistant. This program includes instruction and hands on training in the basic knowledge and skills required for successful employment.
Program Outcomes
Students completing the Basic Law Enforcement certificate should be able to satisfy the following outcomes:
- Identify the historical and philosophical evolution of law enforcement in the United States.
- Identify and describe the legal foundation for law enforcement officers working under “color of law.”
You may earn a certificate of completion by successfully completing the required 38 credit hours with a grade of “C” or better in all courses.
