Develops strategies for balancing academic, professional, and personal life. Explores effective time management, resource engagement, policy navigation, problem-solving, decision-making, emotional intelligence, digital proficiency, and communication skills. Fosters self-awareness, adaptability, self-advocacy, and lifelong success.

 

Student Learning Outcomes:
 

  1. Effective Time Management: Apply comprehensive time management techniques, including digital tools, prioritizing tasks based on deadlines and importance, anticipating challenges, communicating proactively if help is needed, and efficiently balancing academic, professional, family, and social responsibilities.
  2. Resource Engagement: Actively research, identify, and engage with college resources, proactively seeking new sources of information and developing new skills to enhance academic performance and promote personal growth and self-advocacy.
  3. Policy Navigation: Understand and apply college and community policies and procedures, representing oneself professionally, respecting workplace culture, chain of command, and procedures, and acknowledging one’s role in maintaining safety, inclusion, and productivity.
  4. Digital Proficiency: Consistently demonstrate competency in modern technologies and digital tools essential for communication, organization, research, and effective problem-solving to enhance academic and personal productivity.
  5. Effective Communication: Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, adapting communication responsiveness, style, and modality to the audience and platform, actively listening, using appropriate body language, and interacting positively with peers, instructors, and support services.
  6. Emotional Intelligence and Resilience: Cultivate emotional intelligence by seeking others’ feelings, perspectives, backgrounds, and motivations to guide interactions and adapt to environments. Demonstrate resilience by recovering quickly from difficulties and becoming stronger through overcoming challenges.
