APR 241I Iron Worker Intermediate 2 Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Develops understanding of reinforcing blueprints. Provides knowledge of placement drawings for installing reinforcing steel. Includes interpretation of rebar schedules for material identifications and locations. Mathematics as it applies to ironworkers will be covered.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Apply mathematics on the job site as it applies to ironworkers.
- Explain welds and other assemblies represented in blueprints and drawings
- Define weld types and symbols, as used in blueprints
- Interpret abbreviations and symbols used on a reinforcing blueprint.
- Interpret placing drawings to properly install reinforcing steel.
- Interpret bend tables and material schedules.
- Create material lists using placement drawings.
- Calculate total weights of reinforcing steel assemblies.
- Create a rigging plan for erecting reinforcing steel assemblies.
