FE 180A5 Introductory Work Based Learning


Credits: 1

Introduces the realities of the world of work for students inexperienced in the labor market. Emphasizes gaining an understanding of the workplace in order to guide career choices.

Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
Repeatable: Can be repeated up to six credits.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Identify employability skills desirable to employers. 
  2. Identify examples of employee skills utilized at the work site. 
  3. Construct an informational interview plan and format. 
  4. Use workplace skills to interact in increasingly complex work-based learning experiences. 
  5. List the skills and abilities of a successful entry-level employee. 
  6. Practice workplace habits and ethics as required at the work site. 
  7. Set up increasingly complex work experiences as assessed by successfully performing learning objectives.
