PE 185DM Group Exercise, Beginning

Increases cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance or flexibility, and overall health. Incorporates a combination of step, cardio kickboxing or dance routines, strengthening exercises, Pilates and/or stretching activities. Supports incorporating exercise into a lifestyle.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Beginning 

  • Perform basic exercise movements. 
  • Participate in a consistent exercise schedule. 
  • Determine intensity by measuring individual heart rate and target zone or rate of perceived exertion. 
  • Monitor individual physical intensity and progress. 
  • Increase cardiovascular capacity, muscular strength, and endurance and/or flexibility.
