APR 166A Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Fundamentals Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Presents related training material consistent with the minimum skill requirements of the sheet metal trade. Includes introduction to the trade, terminology, tools, mathematics, safety, fasteners, rigging, and hoisting.
Prerequisite: Indentured apprentice; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Define trade terminology, tools, and processes.
- Practice safety on the job and perform CPR and First Aid.
- Perform shop and trade math calculations.
- Identify and install materials and fasteners.
- Define sheet metal processes.
- Demonstrate basic soldering techniques.
- Explain the components of mechanical drawings.
