APR 256K HVAC/R Apprenticeship-Advanced 2 Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Focuses on air balancing; procedures for system startup and shutdown; interpreting industry drawings and specifications; system design; and LEB test prep. Designed for Oregon State recognized apprentices working in the HVAC/R trade.
Prerequisite: APR 256J with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Explain the fundamentals of system air balancing.
- Detail procedures for system startup and shutdown.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications and submittals.
- Describe processes for heating and cooling system design.
- Find the answers to LEB test questions.
