ART 267 Portrait Photography Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 4 Credits: 4
Explores a variety of techniques and approaches to portraiture. Includes making formal, informal, environmental, and group portraits using studio lighting, location lighting, and available light. Incorporates digital printing and professional practices.
Prerequisite: ART 266 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Apply lighting set ups and light modifying techniques.
- Apply compositional concepts to portrait making.
- Apply posing techniques.
- Correct color and retouch digital portrait images.
- Produce technically accurate inkjet images.
- Apply ethics and legal issues as related to portrait photography.
- Use industry standard terminology in discussing concepts and techniques.
- Use professional work methods and attitudes in portraiture.
