BA 288 Sustainability in Business Lecture Hours: 4 Credits: 4
Introduces the three areas of management: sustainability, responsibility, and ethics as they relate to business, government, and society as a whole. Provides an understanding of the triple bottom line (ecologic performance, social performance, and economic performance) utilizing the four functions (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling) of management.
Prerequisite: Placement into WR 121Z ; and BA 101Z with a grade of C or better. Recommended: Placement into WR 121Z and BA 101Z with a grade of C or better.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify issues involving sustainability, responsibility, and ethics.
- Explain the responsible management process through the four functions of management: planning, organizing, leading and controlling
- Identify stakeholders impacting organizational activities.
- Know and understand business ethics and ethics management.
- Analyze the impact of global and local environments through responsible management.
- Understand stakeholder accountability and return on investment.
