BLD 141 International Residential Codes 1 Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Covers the administrative, definitions, building planning, and foundation portions of the International Residential Specialty Code (Chapters 1 through 4 and 44) as it relates to residential construction and other applicable codes.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Locate and apply dwelling codes to residential construction.
- Determine when a permit is required for a structure.
- Apply the administrative provisions of the code to residential plans and inspections.
- Determine the required design criteria for residential construction.
- Determine the code requirements for soils and foundations, and assess if the design for a foundation meets code requirements.
