BLD 255 Building Department Administration 2

Discusses building department administration roles and responsibilities. Examines laws and principles that affect building department records management, budgeting, information technology, and legal aspects.

Prerequisite: BLD 155  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Use various building department record keeping systems. 
  2. Define legal terms that relate to code enforcement. 
  3. Analyze Oregon law related to code enforcement. 
  4. Explain how the Oregon court system relates to building department procedures.
  5. Identify building department resources available through the department’s budget.
  6. Identify technology used in inspections, plan review, and department administration.
