CA 122 Advanced Keyboarding and Document Production Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Improves alphabetic and numeric keypad keyboarding skill, including proficiency, speed, and accuracy. Serves as preparation for production keyboarding as well as general skill development. Covers document formatting.
Prerequisite: CA 121 with a grade of C or better; or touch keyboarding ability of 25 words per minute (30 words per minute recommended); or consent of instructor. Repeatable: 2
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Measure keyboarding speed and accuracy, including numeric keypad.
- Determine specific keyboarding problems and use appropriate drills to correct those problems.
- Establish skill-improvement goals and evaluate the level of success in achieving those goals.
- Produce timed writings that display a higher degree of accuracy and speed than those produced at the start of the term.
- Create and format business documents using advanced word processing features.
