CAM 115 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Lecture Hours: 2 Credits: 2
Covers geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles based on ANSI/ASME standards. Includes computation of tolerance values required insuring proper fit and function. Emphasizes measurement and inspection required to match design specifications.
Prerequisite: CAM 105 or CAM 130 , either with a grade of C or better; and print reading experience as confirmed by instructor; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols.
- Specify geometric tolerancing required to meet form and function.
- Design gages for inspection of parts.
- Apply geometric tolerancing to drawings of parts.
- Practice standard industry work ethics and habits to include teamwork, honesty, responsibility, punctuality, attendance, personal appearance, cooperation, positive attitude and effective interaction skills.
