CG 102A College Preparation: International 1A Lecture Hours: 1 Credits: 1
Introduces international students to information, resources, and strategies to be successful in the U.S. educational environment. Designed for beginning and intermediate non-native English speakers attending the Language and Culture Institute.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Apply strategies relating to American culture to interact and learn in the community college setting.
- Describe stages of culture shock and apply strategies to adjust to living in a new culture.
- Explain policies, procedures, and services needed to manage the educational process.
- Design and implement a personal plan to learn English utilizing college resources, study skills and language learning strategies.
