CG 130C Career Exploration and Planning

Uses an individualized study approach to provide information, instruments, and resources useful in exploring and determining career and life decisions. Offers a personal framework for career or life planning. Includes selection of various career components involving assessment, research, planning, decision-making process and educational or training objectives.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Analyze current career knowledge and describe individual characteristics that contribute to a satisfactory job and/or career.
  2. Interpret and evaluate results of individual evaluation materials concerning value clarification, interest assessment, skills identification and personality type inventories.
  3. Describe the process of decision making and select and apply a method useful in career planning.
  4. Research, analyze and evaluate information and services that provide data about jobs and labor market trends.
  5. Select and create an individualized career transition plan: short term, medium range or future oriented. Explain the reasons and describe how results will be evaluated.
  6. Identify programs of training or studies that offer general or specific work-related/ employment credentials.
