CG 130C Career Exploration and Planning Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Uses an individualized study approach to provide information, instruments, and resources useful in exploring and determining career and life decisions. Offers a personal framework for career or life planning. Includes selection of various career components involving assessment, research, planning, decision-making process and educational or training objectives.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Analyze current career knowledge and describe individual characteristics that contribute to a satisfactory job and/or career.
- Interpret and evaluate results of individual evaluation materials concerning value clarification, interest assessment, skills identification and personality type inventories.
- Describe the process of decision making and select and apply a method useful in career planning.
- Research, analyze and evaluate information and services that provide data about jobs and labor market trends.
- Select and create an individualized career transition plan: short term, medium range or future oriented. Explain the reasons and describe how results will be evaluated.
- Identify programs of training or studies that offer general or specific work-related/ employment credentials.
