CJ 103 Program Application and Employment Standards

Introduces information specific to Oregon employment requirements and Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) certification standards. Includes employment disqualifiers as well as desired attributes to assist in selecting the criminal justice career field best suited to specific qualifications. Must pass a criminal history clearance and drug screening, to include Marijuana.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Pass a criminal history background check.
  2. Identify DPSST certification standards for criminal justice professionals.
  3. Outline Oregon employment requirements for individuals working in various criminal justice career fields.
  4. List the ten common reasons why a criminal justice applicant doesn’t get the job.
  5. Identify which criminal justice careers are most attainable based on current or past behaviors and lifestyle.
