DRF 150 Architectural Drafting 1 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Covers basic architectural drafting techniques and methods. Includes dimensioning, layout, symbols and conventional construction methods used in residential buildings. Uses AutoCAD to draft a partial set of construction drawings.
Prerequisite: DRF 131 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Draw a partial set of residential working drawings consisting of floor plan(s), elevations, foundation plan, cross-section, roof plan and electrical plan.
- Apply current architectural drafting procedures and symbols to drawings.
- Apply local building codes and ordinances to construction drawings.
- Use building construction and architectural vocabulary in communicating drafting concepts.
- Relate the building process to basic architectural drawings.
- Complete drawings using current AutoCAD.
