DRF 160 Spreadsheet and Database Applications Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Covers engineering and technical applications of purchased software packages, focusing on Excel. Includes the use of spreadsheets to store and manipulate data, perform engineering calculations, and aid in statistical analysis and parametric design.
Prerequisite: MTH 081 or MTH 111Z , either with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Operate the engineering application of spreadsheet software.
- Test alternative outcomes.
- Generate graphs and charts.
- Perform engineering calculations using spreadsheet techniques.
- Utilize spreadsheets for statistical analysis.
- Develop parametric designs.
- Import and export data between applications.
- Perform database operations.
