ENL 032G ESL Intermediate Grammar 2

Focuses on improving grammatical accuracy in oral and written communication and on improving reading and listening comprehension through greater understanding of grammatical structures. Designed for intermediate non-native speakers of English.

Prerequisite: ENL 031L  with a grade of C or better; or placement by an ESOL specialist.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Understand and use basic verb tenses. 
  2. Use words and phrases associated with target structures. 
  3. Apply positive and negative target structures in discourse. 
  4. Identify, use, and punctuate simple, compound, and complex sentence structures. 
  5. Identify and use parts of speech. 
  6. Understand and use gerund and infinitive forms. 
  7. Identify and use commonly confused words, phrases, and word forms. 
  8. Proofread, edit, and revise written assignments independently or with a peer. 
  9. Use technology to accomplish tasks.
