ENL 032G ESL Intermediate Grammar 2 Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Focuses on improving grammatical accuracy in oral and written communication and on improving reading and listening comprehension through greater understanding of grammatical structures. Designed for intermediate non-native speakers of English.
Prerequisite: ENL 031L with a grade of C or better; or placement by an ESOL specialist. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Understand and use basic verb tenses.
- Use words and phrases associated with target structures.
- Apply positive and negative target structures in discourse.
- Identify, use, and punctuate simple, compound, and complex sentence structures.
- Identify and use parts of speech.
- Understand and use gerund and infinitive forms.
- Identify and use commonly confused words, phrases, and word forms.
- Proofread, edit, and revise written assignments independently or with a peer.
- Use technology to accomplish tasks.
