NUR 171 Strategies for Success in the Nursing Program Lecture Hours: 1 Credits: 1
Reinforces the basic skills that are built on in the nursing curriculum. Includes a review of the Nursing program, study skills, coping strategies, testing, the nursing process, medical terminology, documentation, lab and diagnostic testing, pharmacology, and simulation. Takes a hands-on approach to learning through application of concepts within the Nursing Program.
Corequisite: NUR 106 . Student Learning Outcomes:
- Correlate the expectations, values, and culture of nursing to the Nursing Program.
- Implement a plan for workload demands of the Nursing Program.
- Identify coping strategies to manage stress in the Nursing Program.
- Use a variety of test-taking strategies throughout the nursing program.
- Apply patient scenario information to at least three Interactive Worksheet (IW) components.
