An activity course promoting fitness and recreation through instruction on tennis fundamentals. Instruction on play will include stroke production, rules, scoring, strategy, and tennis etiquette.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Beginning 

  1. Identify and use the serve, volley, forehand, and backhand. 
  2. Employ correct tennis rules and scoring for singles and doubles. 
  3. Use appropriate tennis etiquette. 
  4. Demonstrate full participation in the skill of tennis. 

Intermediate 

  1. Meet beginning objectives. 
  2. Identify and utilize the lob and overhead. 
  3. Demonstrate tennis strategies for singles and doubles. 

Advanced 

  1. Meet all beginning and intermediate objectives. 
  2. Identify and use half-volley and spin and twist serves and topspin. 
  3. Demonstrate strategies for competitive singles and doubles. 
  4. Demonstrate proper care of tennis equipment.
