Develop and participate in a walking plan to gain and maintain cardio-respiratory fitness.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Beginning 

  1. Describe cardio-respiratory fitness and walking benefits. 
  2. Identify of long- and short-term fitness goals. 
  3. Assess individual cardio-respiratory fitness level. 
  4. Participate in group and/or  individualized walking program. 
  5. Record weekly walking activity. 
  6. Perform a “long walk”. 

Intermediate 

  1. Meet beginning objectives. 
  2. Demonstrate correct long distance walking form. 
  3. Execute speed or race walking form. 
  4. Discuss prevention of injuries.
