VC 244 Animation and Motion Graphics 2 Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 4 Credits: 4
Applies the principles of animation and motion graphics using industry standard software and techniques. Includes animated branding as well as developing a short animation project by first scripting and storyboarding the project, then using both traditional and contemporary techniques to animate it.
Prerequisite: VC 243 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Integrate typographic principles with motion graphics and visual effects.
- Create a personally significant narrative animation using industry standard technology, software, and techniques.
- Apply time design principles to animation projects and motion graphics.
- Record voice and apply lip-syncing to animation projects.
- Publish and export the animation projects to industry suitable standard delivery media and formats.
- Use industry standard terminology to critique and discuss concepts and techniques.
- Follow professional standards related to copyright and plagiarism.
