WLD 105 Introduction to Welding Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Introduces the fundamentals of spot welding (resistive welding), arc welding, oxyacetylene welding and cutting, metallic inert gas welding (MIG), and Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) procedures. Includes safety awareness of factory floor personnel.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Exercise all safety rules that apply to the spot welding, shielded metal arc, MIG, TIG, and oxyacetylene welding processes.
- Demonstrate the proper operation, including set-up and shutdown of MIG, TIG, and oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in making various welds and cuts, using MIG, TIG, and oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment.
