WLD 162 Intermediate MIG Welding

Builds upon WLD 161  and includes a study of and practice in welding of carbon steel. Emphasizes production in welding situations, using large diameter electrodes (solid and flux-cord) with mixed shielding gases in flat or horizontal positions

Prerequisite: WLD 161  with a grade of C or better; or consent of program chair.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Use standard industry safe practices in MIG welding.
  2. Use MIG welding equipment following industry practices to form welds.
