WLD 162 Intermediate MIG Welding Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Builds upon WLD 161 and includes a study of and practice in welding of carbon steel. Emphasizes production in welding situations, using large diameter electrodes (solid and flux-cord) with mixed shielding gases in flat or horizontal positions
Prerequisite: WLD 161 with a grade of C or better; or consent of program chair. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Use standard industry safe practices in MIG welding.
- Use MIG welding equipment following industry practices to form welds.
