WLD 170 Oxyacetylene Processes Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Familiarizes the student with the safe use, care, and operation of oxyacetylene welding, brazing, and cutting equipment.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Define vocabulary, as it applies to oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment and techniques.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the safe use, care, and operation of oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment.
- Demonstrate the proper procedure in setting up and shutting down oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment.
- Demonstrate the ability to produce oxyacetylene butt, tee, corner, and lap welds in all positions.
- Demonstrate the ability to produce braze welds on butt and tee joints with the oxyacetylene process.
- Demonstrate the ability to manually cut plate, angle, beam, tubing, and pipe, using the oxyacetylene process.
- Demonstrate the use of semi-automatic oxyacetylene cutting equipment, such as pantographs, track burners, and circle cutting attachments.
