WLD 170 Oxyacetylene Processes

Lecture Hours: 1
Lab Hours: 6
Credits: 3

Familiarizes the student with the safe use, care, and operation of oxyacetylene welding, brazing, and cutting equipment.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Define vocabulary, as it applies to oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment and techniques.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the safe use, care, and operation of oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment.
  3. Demonstrate the proper procedure in setting up and shutting down oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to produce oxyacetylene butt, tee, corner, and lap welds in all positions.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to produce braze welds on butt and tee joints with the oxyacetylene process.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to manually cut plate, angle, beam, tubing, and pipe, using the oxyacetylene process.
