WLD 177 Welding Processes Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 4
Introduces the fundamentals of shield metal arc welding, oxyacetylene welding and cutting, metallic inert gas welding (MIG), and arc-air procedures.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Exercise all safety rules that apply to the shielded metal arc, MIG, and oxyacetylene welding process.
- Demonstrate the proper operation, including set-up and shutdown of arc, MIG, and oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in making various welds and cuts, using arc, MIG, and oxyacetylene equipment.
