BH 107 Exploring Healthy Relationships

Explores the relationship between growing up in a chemically-dependent or family issues and ensuing problems in adulthood. Discusses family dynamics, denial, relationships, work, social skills, and feelings.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Identify unhealthy family dynamics and their impact on their growth and development.  
  2. Explore the denial system in their family of origin. 
  3. Describe other substances often related to adult children of substance user issues. 
  4. Describe the relationship between childhood dysfunction and deficits in social, intimacy, work, and expressive skills.
  5. Identify the community resources available for the adult children of substance users and for other dysfunctions.
