ED 114 Instructional Strategies in Math

Introduces the development of math concepts and presents a systematic approach to math instruction. Students learn to link math instruction and assessment to state content standards.

Prerequisite: MTH 060 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.

Demonstrate a math concept at the concept, connecting, and symbolic level of understanding.
Create assessments that can determine the mathematical knowledge of children.
Identify a developmentally appropriate math activity for a selected audience.
Create and organize a digital math portfolio containing developmentally appropriate lesson resources.
