ED 114 Instructional Strategies in Math Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Introduces the development of math concepts and presents a systematic approach to math instruction. Students learn to link math instruction and assessment to state content standards.
Prerequisite: MTH 060 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate a math concept at the concept, connecting, and symbolic level of understanding.
- Create assessments that can determine the mathematical knowledge of children.
- Identify a developmentally appropriate math activity for a selected audience.
- Create and organize a digital math portfolio containing developmentally appropriate lesson resources.
- Create a math-based lesson plan.
- Design a math lesson that integrates computer technology.
- Differentiate a lesson to meet the needs of diverse learners
