BH 170 Introduction to Practicum

Provides the background and specific skills needed to select and succeed in Behavioral Health practicum placement and future employment. 

Prerequisite: Completion of BH 150  with a grade of C or better; admitted to Behavioral Health program; or consent of instructor.
Recommended: BH 203  

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Understand the purpose of a practicum as it relates to the behavioral health field.
  2. Articulate interests, values, and limits as they relate to practicum and career goals.
  3. Write objectives in measurable terms to assess progress at practicum sites.
  4. Develop a resume, cover letter, job search skills, and interview techniques to support behavioral health practicum placement.
