Provides instruction on theory and reasoning in nursing. Explores the significance of theory for nursing as a profession, thus providing students with a foundation for professional nursing practice and research. Provides an overview of theory, theory development, important nursing theories and nursing theorists, and a method for critiquing theory. Develops a foundation of reasoning skills necessary to integrate knowledge, skills, values, meanings, and experiences into nursing practice.

Explore the different nursing theories and theorists, enabling the student to apply these concepts to nursing practice.
