Explores how linguistic diversity, background knowledge, and student voice influence literacy development and engagement. Emphasizes assessment-informed instruction and differentiated strategies to support multilingual learners, students with reading disabilities or dyslexia, and those who are gifted and talented.

Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Bachelor of Applied Science in Elementary Education Program, or instructor approval.
