ART 223 Graphic Design 3 - Package Design

Builds on the concepts in ART 222 . Continues exploration of graphic design with advanced projects emphasizing package design.

Prerequisite: ART 222  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Refine a method of solving design problems from initial concept through the production of final art. 
  2. Apply the special requirements of designing for multiple surfaces to a design. 
  3. Research, design and produce the graphics for a packaging system. 
  4. Expand the concept of branding in the design of graphics for packaging. 
  5. Use color and typography to produce packaging solutions. 
  6. Analyze and develop a package that promotes and protects a product for simple packaging projects.
