BA 228 Computerized Accounting 1 Lecture Hours: 4 Credits: 4
Introduces computer-based accounting for small businesses and provides hands-on experience with business applications including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory management processing, sales invoicing, check reconciliation, financial statements, budgeting, analysis, and reports.
Prerequisite: BA 115 or BA 211Z ; and CIS 125E or BA 225 , with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Perform tasks and procedures required to operate the computer-based accounting software for existing service and merchandising businesses using the integrated modules and menu structure.
- Prepare financial statements and complete financial statement analysis.
- Describe the procedures in the conversion process from a manual accounting system to a computerized accounting system.
