CJ 104C Criminal Justice Personal Defense, Advanced Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 1
Designed to introduce the knowledge and safety of personal defense to Criminal Justice students. Uses the elements of responding to surprise attacks, principals of leverage, and active movements as key factors in the methods. Develops skills to defend oneself and others, if needed.
Prerequisite: CJ 103 , and CJ 104A or CJ 104B ; or consent of instructor. (All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.) Student Learning Outcomes:
- Perform takedown to ground fighting techniques.
- Perform ground defense positions.
- Perform ground defense attacks.
- Understand the difficulties and limitations presented to criminal justice personnel in ground fighting.
