CJ 123 Spanish for Law Enforcement Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Offers a practical, learner-friendly Spanish language course for law enforcement students and personnel. Emphasizes officer safety, increased community safety, enhanced job performance, and protection from legal liability. Requires no prior knowledge of Spanish.
Corequisite: CJ 103 with criminal history clearance; or current professional in the field; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Speak and comprehend words, phrases, and commands in simple Spanish that are routinely used during various law enforcement contacts.
- Express and comprehend specific phrases, commands and questions related to communicating with victims, family members, witnesses and suspects.
