DRF 240 Architectural Drafting 2 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Covers advanced architectural drafting techniques and methods. Incorporates a full set of working drawings, shear wall designs, advanced construction details, building process, current building codes used in residential buildings. Uses AutoCAD to draft a full set of construction drawings.
Prerequisite: DRF 150 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Develop a complete set of multi-level residential working drawings.
- Develop proficiency in the plan submittal.
- Produce details for shear walls, stairs, and engineered components.
- Apply current architectural drawing procedures and symbols.
- Apply advanced technology in the building process to drawings.
- Design complex roof systems.
- Apply local building codes and ordinances.
- Produce site map.
