EGR 213 Strength of Materials

Lecture Hours: 3
Lab Hours: 2
Credits: 4

Covers properties of structural materials and analysis of stress and deformation in axially loaded members, circular shafts, beams, and statically indeterminate systems.

Prerequisite: Placement into WR 115  (or higher), or completion of WR 090  (or higher); and completion of EGR 211  and MTH 252 ; or consent of instructor. (All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.)
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Analyze internal forces in members.
  2. Analyze stress and strain and their relationships.
  3. Calculate stresses and deflections.
