EGR 248 Graphics and 3-D Modeling Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Covers graphic communication, multi-view and pictorial representation, conceptual design, spatial analysis, and engineering design representation through use of parametric modeling software.
Prerequisite: Placement into WR 115 (or higher), or completion of WR 090 (or higher); and completion of DRF 130 ; or consent of instructor. (All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.) Student Learning Outcomes:
- Use Solidworks in drafting and engineering applications.
- Generate parametric 3-D models of machine parts and assemblies.
- Produce single and multi-view drawings from 3-D solid models.
- Compute tolerances.
- Generate pictorial views from 3-D models.
- Analyze fit for assembled machine parts.
