FRP 179 Wildland Urban Interface Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Studies causes, standard firefighting orders, urban interface problems, fire suppression methods, fireground management and structure triage. Designed to meet some of the competencies as set forth by Department of Public Safety Standards and Training for Wildland Interface Engine Boss.
Prerequisite: FRP 151 , FRP 152 , and FRP 153 ; or consent of instructor. (All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.) Student Learning Outcomes:
- Size-up, evaluate and describe the potential situation in a wildland/urban interface fire incident.
- Order and deploy the necessary resources in a wildland incident.
- Apply safe and effective tactics to minimize property damage in a wildland interface fire incident.
