PE 185SD Swim for Fitness, Beginnng

Develops cardiovascular endurance through swimming. Covers stroke technique, interval training and lap swimming.

Prerequisite: PE 185SS  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Beginning

  1. Demonstrate full participation in pool workouts.
  2. Execute proper stroke techniques for freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke.
  3. Swim thirty consecutive lengths or more.
  4. Identify the components of physical fitness and cardiorespiratory endurance.
