SLD 129 Student Leadership Lecture Hours: 2 Credits: 2
Introduces students to techniques, strategies and information fundamental to success in a college and career environments. Explores leadership qualities, research and presentation skills, active listening and interviewing, planning and organizational skills, connecting education to career opportunities.
Prerequisite: Placement into WR 115 (or higher), or completion of WR 090 (or higher) with a grade of C or better. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify key college resources, services and procedures.
- Identify qualities of leaders, develop a personal plan for leadership development.
- Relate successful time management to achieving individual and team goals.
- Develop research, presentation, interviewing and listening skills.
- Plan, organize and implement a team project.
